Add text to PDF
Updated Files never leave your device
Type on any PDF — fill in a flat form that has no fields, label a diagram, add a note or correct a date. Choose the font, size and colour, and place it exactly.
How to add text to PDF
- Choose a PDF.
- Click Text and tap where you want to type.
- Type in the toolbar box (Enter adds a new line). Set font, size, colour and bold; drag the text into position, or drag its corner to resize.
- Repeat for other spots — tick boxes with Check — then click Save PDF.
Lining text up with printed lines and boxes
- Tap a little above the line: the text box's top edge sits where you tap, and the baseline is about one font-size lower.
- Select the text and use the arrow keys to nudge it (hold Shift for bigger steps).
- For form boxes on paper-style forms, 10–11 pt Helvetica fits most single-line boxes; use Courier for comb boxes (one letter per box).
Fillable form? Use the form filler instead
If clicking on the PDF in Chrome or Adobe shows blue fields, it has real form fields. Fill PDF form types straight into them, keeps them editable, and lines everything up automatically.

Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens with JavaScript inside your browser tab — the file is never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Can I add text on several pages?
Yes — scroll to any page and tap to add text there. Select a text box and use Copy to all pages to repeat it (for example a reference number) at the same spot on every page.
Can I change the font?
Choose Sans (Helvetica), Serif (Times) or Mono (Courier), plus bold, any size from 4 to 144 pt and any colour.
Will the text be searchable?
Yes. Added text is real PDF text, so it can be selected, searched and read by screen readers.
